Lead the Way with WIHL

Deadline to Nominate Yourself or a Colleague: October 31, 2026

Nominations are now open for the UAB Women in Healthcare Leadership (WIHL) Board of Directors. Founded in 2016 by outstanding, motivated alumnae of UAB’s Department of Health Services Administration, WIHL advances inclusive leadership across health care.

We’re seeking dedicated people to help us pursue four goals:

  • Highlight successful leaders through award nominations and on-campus presentations.
  • Establish mentoring programs for mid-career alumni and current students.
  • Provide programming for students and alumni that promotes inclusive leadership and thriving organizations.
  • Secure funding to sustain WIHL initiatives.

Service Opportunities

Board Member 3-year term

  • Serve on one of four committees aligned with WIHL goals.
  • Actively participate in ~5 calls/meetings per year.
  • Recruit others to engage in WIHL programs and events.
  • Support the UAB Fund to Advance Women Leaders in Health Care with a $500 annual gift (monthly options available) to help defray WIHL expenses.

  • Actively participate in ~5 calls/meetings per year.
  • Recruit others to engage in WIHL programs and events.
